Gary Peters, a former employee and dear friend of Quazar’s, passed away unexpectedly last fall.

In honor of Gary and as a benefit to his wife and children, a group of friends and family members are hosting a memorial golf event. Gary was passionate about golf so this is truly the best way for all of us to honor him and his family.

Quazar’s 21st Anniversary Charity Contest Winners ($10,000.00)

Earlier this winter, Quazar Capital invited its friends and neighbors to nominate their favorite charity. Baker Tilly assisted by randomly drawing four charities, each to receive $2,500.00. The selected charities include:

National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota

The National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota (NPFM) is a nonprofit, voluntary alliance. Its purpose is to improve the lives of individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their families. The organization works to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease, provide resources and information, inspire others to show their support, raise donations to fund research and Parkinson-friendly events, and to fight for those who are struggling with this illness.

Kevin Burkart, who nominated NPFM, is performing 300 skydives in one day (June 19, 2012) to raise awareness and additional funds for this organization.

Youth Frontiers

Youth Frontiers was built on the idea of fostering safe, positive school communities where students and educators can thrive emotionally, socially and, therefore, academically. Thus far, the organization has served more than one million youth across the country, with the vision to change the way young people treat each other in every hallway, lunch line and classroom of every school in America so that today’s young people can make tomorrow’s world better.

Youth Frontiers was nominated by Polly and Bob McCrea.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army was established in 1876. The organization serves more than 100 countries and territories to aid in disaster relief and restoration, community health, food security, water and sanitation, spiritual and ministry, and shelter for those in need.

The Salvation Army was nominated by Greg Heggem. Greg is on a winning streak, as this is the second year in a row that Greg’s nominated charity was randomly selected!

Minnesota Youth Shotgun Association

The Minnesota Youth Shotgun Association is committed to working with youth. The mission of the organization is to “promote the growth of youth trapshooting and hunting through shotgun safety, education, and competition in Minnesota.”

The Youth Shotgun Association was nominated by Sally and Mark Stevens. Mark and Sally, certified coaches, are passionate about working with youth.

Quazar Volunteers to Feed Children of Haiti
